We take the security of your accounts very seriously. For this reason, we have gathered some important information to help and teach you to be cautious when it comes to becoming a victim of stolen accounts or fraud methods. If this happens, or to prevent it, you can read what to do in such cases.

Beware of fraud!

Account thieves use a number of tricks to get access to your account. These are some of the fraud methods seen in Metin2 so far.
Stay careful! Fraudsters keep coming up with new methods. Always remember that you must never give out your account details for any reason.

Fake team members

These are responsible for a large number of thefts in Metin2. They choose names close to those of real team members (with small additions such as "administrator", "GM-XY", "Support-XY" or "|GM|") and hope to obtain players' login details that way.

How to recognise a real GM:

  • A GM always has the maximum level.
  • A GM's name is always written in square brackets ( [...] ), most often [GM], [GA] or [TM].
  • A message from a GM appears in yellow. Messages from regular players are white.
  • A GM will never ask you for your account details in any form.
  • A GM can be recognised by the GM mark above their head.

Levelling help / quest help

There are also supposedly friendly players who offer to help with difficult quests or levelling, and say they need your account details to do it.

Stay careful: players like this only want to get hold of your account.

Trading valuable items

Be careful when trading expensive items!

These are stolen most often, especially from new players who do not yet know the risks. Always ask for an identical value in return for the items you trade, otherwise you will never get them back.

Item cloning

Beware of players offering to clone your items. Do not hand over your equipment unless you want to lose it.

Phone numbers for topping up coins

In rare cases, fraudsters try to get you to call premium-rate numbers, promising Dragon Coins in return. All you will get is a huge bill, so never call a number given to you by a stranger.

Hacks being passed around

Programs that affect the game and give unfair advantages are strictly forbidden, and the penalty is a permanent ban. Many of them also hide a keylogger that can read your personal data.

To protect yourself, never accept or download these programs, however tempting the description.
