General Information
We take the security of your accounts very seriously. For this reason, we have gathered some important information to help and teach you to be cautious when it comes to becoming a victim of stolen accounts or fraud methods. If this happens, or to prevent it, you can read what to do in such cases.
Account sharing
Account sharing happens when you allow other players to log in to your account, or when you play on someone else's account. Even if you trust those people, you take a risk by giving them your account details. You can be sure of complete security only when you do not share these login details with anyone in any way.
Keep in mind that players who share their account details with someone else violate the terms and conditions of use. A player whose account is also used by someone else will not receive support from the team for any service. If items or characters happen to be lost, no help will be given because shared accounts are not entitled to this.
Fraud sites or phishing emails
Many sites or emails received advertise free Dragon Coins, free items, fast leveling, GM rights, hacks, etc.
The personal details of your Metin2 account must only be entered on the official site: https://metin2.md/
All other sites can record your password and use it to steal your account.
Here is an example of a site that commits fraud:
Malicious software (Malware/Keyloggers)
Do not download any program and do not enter suspicious sites that offer you in-game advantages.
Often, these programs contain keyloggers, which will record and forward to an anonymous party everything you type - including your account details.
Be sure to use anti-virus programs and keep your system updated. You can find out more about this here: PC Security
Fake Game Administrators
Certain players pretend to be GMs, technicians, etc. and will try to tell you that some errors have appeared on your account. Or they will promise you countless things but for that you will have to give them your account details.
No Metin2 member will ever ask you for your password - no GM, technician, developer or anyone else from Gameforge.
If someone asks you for such details please report them immediately and do not give them any account details, even if they threaten that your account will be banned if you do not. These threats are only for intimidation.
Email / messenger password
Please do not give out your email or messenger account details. If someone gets hold of your email password it will be very easy for them to also steal your account.
We strongly recommend that you use a unique password for Metin2 that you do not use anywhere else.
